Description
On the morning of March 28th, the rhythmic sound of hammering echoed through the J-HUB workshop, punctuated by bursts of excited laughter. A group from the local ethnic minority community joined us to experience the art of silver ring making—a first for many. From annealing and stamping to soldering and polishing, every step of the process demanded patience and meticulous care.
Master Lo provided warm and professional guidance, helping participants navigate both language and technical barriers. Although they spoke different mother tongues, focused gazes and knowing smiles became a universal language within the world of craft. As participants completed their rings, they proudly showed them to friends, exclaiming, "I made this myself!" Their sense of pride and joy was truly infectious, touching everyone present.
As these one-of-a-kind silver rings came to life, we witnessed more than just the passing down of a traditional skill; we saw a beautiful microcosm of cultural inclusion. Regardless of nationality or background, everyone stands equal before the art of craftsmanship. Each finished piece carries the unique thoughts and stories of its creator.
It was a profound honor to host this workshop for our ethnic minority friends. Contributing to the preservation of traditional skills while bridging national and cultural boundaries makes our mission even more meaningful. The true value of craftsmanship lies not only in the continuation of a technique but in its power to connect hearts and break down barriers. We look forward to many more opportunities to bring diverse communities together, fostering connections that reach wider and further.
