The Hong Kong Jewellery Pulse 2026 event brought together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and suppliers of precious metals, diamonds and gems to exchange updates. We were also most pleased to be joined by the Mexican jewellery delegation.
Key highlights from the day:
•Wings Cheung, from the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’Association outlined the implications of the 2025 Mainland China Gold Tax Reform on regional cost structures, supply chains, and pricing strategies, urging enterprises to prepare early for upcoming policy transitions.
•Representatives from the Customs and Excise Department reinforced how the DPMS Regulatory Regime anchors buyer confidence through compliance and traceability.
•Cecilia Fong, Senior Director of APAC Market Development & Strategy, GIA (Gemological Institute of America) demonstrated how world-class gemmological education and unbiased grading and certification services cement Hong Kong's reputation as a trusted centre of expertise.
•Hin Han Shum, Solicitor Advocate, Senior Associate, Squire Patton Boggs shared the latest developments on the Government's public consultation on the review of Hong Kong's Registered Designs Regime, illustrating how ongoing efforts to modernise the city's intellectual property legal framework continue to support and protect design innovation across the industry.
•SSSG Securall Group presented recent advancements in precious cargo security and cross-border logistics, reflecting the increasingly sophisticated operational infrastructure that underpins Hong Kong's role as a trusted international trading hub.
Hosted at J-HUB (https://jhub.hk), a 8000sqft space dedicated to the jewellery industry, the event's networking reception brought the day's conversations to life and injected new momentum into the continued prosperity of Hong Kong’s jewellery sector.
