1. Implementation of permanent trust-marked jewelry e-ID system to strengthen the brand image of "Made-in-HK jewelry"
With the financial support from the "SME Development Fund" of the Government of HKSAR, the project aims to establish a trustmark system via the implementation of a permanent marked jewelry e-ID coding within the HK industry to secure the confidence of consumers to purchase identity-proven jewelry.
This project is supported by others major local jewelry and gems associations:
1. Hong Kong & Kowloon Jade Merchants Union Association
2. Hong Kong Gemstone Manufacturers' Association
3. Hong Kong Gold & Silver Ornament Workers and Merchants General Union
4. Hong Kong Jade Wholesalers & Retailers Association Ltd
5. Hong Kong Jewelry & Jade Manufacturers Association
6. Hong Kong Pearl Association
7. Jadeware Traders Industry & Commerce Association Ltd
8. The Gemological Association of Hong Kong
Year Performance
The system was recognized as the most suitable technology in establishing "Made-in-HK jewelry" brands by other jewelry associations in joint conference. 8 associations have acknowledged support to the development of Jewelry e-ID system. This project is approved with the financial support from the "SME Development fund". |
2. J-Info RFID® system for Jewelry Industry

To explore the applicability of RFID technology, HKJMA spent around 2 years in developing the J-Info RFID®system. This RFID system can improve the operation flows and logistic management in jewelry enterprise, covering stock taking, inventory control, work in progress and exhibition.
Year Performance
The developed system has been used by four pilot companies and the result is satisfactory. The large Antenna is registered under the Intellectual Property Protection. HKJMA take order of the J-Info system from April 2007. After several reading tests, the smaller RFID Tags (T25151) have been developed and 1000 tags are given to the J-Info RFID system package bugers. Besides, a plastic tag bag is produced as an accessory for recycle purpose of the RFID tags. On the other hand, the "J-Info RFID Antenna Renewal" program is also provided to those four pilot companies for free.
We are now developing the third generation RFID tags and undergoing the final test status. When the second phase promotion commenced, Objective Solution Limited has joined to support the software of the J-Info RFID system®.
