2. Organizing "Executive Diploma in Management (Jewelry)"
Executive Diploma in Management (Jewelry) is jointly organized by The Polytechnic University SPEED (School of Professional Education and Executive Development) and HKJMA. The programme will be of particular interest to those aspiring to middle level managerial roles in large organisations and those who have a leadership role in smaller organisations. The course provides students a broad integrated picture of global jewelry supply chain, business and markets.
The elements of the programme – course lecture, tutorials, assignments, online resources, and personal and group support – ensure students can apply newly learned skills and techniques in very practical ways immediately. From its commencement, more than 40 students enrolled the programme. The first cohort has completed in May 2009. The second cohort will begin in coming October.
3. Organizing "Accredited Jewelry Design Professional Advanced Diploma"

It is the fifth year of "Accredited Jewelry Design Professional Advanced Diploma". Up till now, more than 100 students graduated from the programme and obtained "Accredited Jewelry Design Professional (A.J.D.P.)" qualification. The sixth cohort students had graduated in May 2008. Their jewelry designs and branding knowledge had been greatly enhanced.
AJDP programme has been recognized as a "Qualification Course" and is an entry requirement to the Executive Diploma in Management (Jewelry) in The Polytechnic University SPEED.
4. Organizing "Jewelry Design and Professional Gemstone Knowledge Training

After a whole-year of intensive training, the 4th cohort students gained a comprehensive understanding on the following fields: jewelry design, jewelry professional photography, gem & jewelry material knowledge, jewelry cost calculation, gemstone grading, jewelry testing technology, jewelry market analysis, jewelry fabrication, gem identification, gem & diamond price information, advanced technology for jewelry product development, estate jewelry & appraisal of jewelry. To provide students customer service techniques, management and operation of large chain-store, "Jewelry wholesale & retails techniques" module is added into the curriculum this year.

The above three courses of the scheme have been successfully opened to provide opportunities for in-service workers to further studies. The course "Introduction to Jewellery Design" and "Introduction to Computer Management System for Jewellery Industry" were very popular to beginners in jewelry industry.
6. Co-organizing with Macau Labour Bureau and Macau Goldsmith's Guild:
Jewelry Design Training Programme (4th cohort)
To strengthen the cooperation between JMA and Macau Goldsmith's Guild, and to upgrade the knowledge and skills of Macau's jewelers, a jewelry design training course was launched in August 2008. It is the second time of cooperation. JMA tutors were satisfied with the teaching environment. Macau students possessed good learning attitudes and were enthusiastic in learning jewelry knowledge and skills.
7. Organizing "Professional Jewelry Photography Training Programme" (Beginner level)
The programme provides beginning photographers a variety of methods to advance their skills in jewelry photography. The course was commenced in October 2008. The tutor is a local jewelry magazine professional photographer. With hands-on training and demonstration, students are taught to overcome photography problems at work. Participants are trained to use current photography equipments to take high-quality photo advertisements and minimize follow-up photo-editing works. The second cohort was commenced in June 2009.

The Gemmological Association of Great Britain was established in 1908, is the world's longest established provider of gem and jewellery education. The prestigious Diploma in Gemmology and Gem Diamond Diploma have become globally recognized as invaluable qualifications, and diploma holders may apply for election to Fellowship (FGA) of the Association. Besides Gem-A London headquarters, Allied Teaching Centres (ATC) are set up in various countries and districts worldwide. Public exams are held in January and June every year. This course was provided at JMA in July 2009 and taught by Mr Johnson Li, an approved GEM-A tutor.

The aim of this project is to study the core contents of best practice in jewelry design of the Hong Kong jewelry companies and the design service which they're providing to the customers worldwide, so as to develop a series of referential models of (i) jewelry design practice and (ii) service design. The HK jewelry designers and companies can benefit through the research findings with referential guidelines to optimize their current practice of design and service design.
